About the Project

Surrounded by both beach and harbour waters, these historical properties are been fused to unveil an exceptional urban oasis! These iconic buildings, both in history and location, will be rebuilt to their former glory with a tenancy offer to match.

Filled with the excitement which is eternally attached to Manly, this sought-after location is ideal for business expansion and pure staff satisfaction due to its laid-back culture located within a bustling village vibe.

Design

A 5-star rebuild is scheduled with a historical façade restoration, sunbathed in natural light with Sydney harbour and green space views.

The facade across Manly Emporium’s ground floor levels 1 & 2 at 6 The Corso and 50 East Esplanade will be retained and restored.

The set-back floors above which are not visible from The Corso, will wrap around to the terraces at 46-50 East Esplanade allowing free flow via connecting bridges.

The Emporium redevelopment will break down the walls between inside and out, while creating a perfect, respectful balance – where old meets new.

Works Schedule and Timeline

With two years of methodical and detail planning now undertaken, the project ground work is scheduled for commencement in early 2020, with an expected project timeline of 12-18 months. Occupation is estimated for mid 2021.

Updates

The Manly Emporium Development Application was lodged with Northern Beaches Council on 11 September 2019, with the project well received by Manly’s key stakeholders:

“Manly CBD is a highly sought-after location for professionals wishing to escape the city and improve their lifestyle. This development is a great opportunity to increase worker’s economic spend within the local area, particularly in the tourist off-season and quieter times of the week.” Luke Atkins – President, Manly Business Chamber

“The Emporium redevelopment will break down the walls between inside and out, whilst creating a perfect, respectful balance – where old meets new.” Darryl Courtney-O’Connor – ICMS Founder

Leasing

The historic facade across the ground floor plus levels 1 & 2 located at 6 The Corso will be kept and restored.

The intriguing terrace frontage at 50 East Esplanade remains with an entire new premise above.

The additional set-back floors above which will not be visible from The Corso will wrap around from The Corso to the terraces at East Esplanade, allowing free flow via connecting bridges with some spaces offering unparalleled views over Manly Cove.

An opportunity exists at this major welcoming point to Manly, for a dynamic major retailer or food and beverage operator on the ground floor, or two smaller tenancies.

Aspirational operators are sought for the upper floors, include co-working spaces, service providers, Bluechip corporates and start-ups. Escape from the hustle of the CBD to the relaxed and easily accessible, balanced working lifestyle of Manly’s beaches.

There will be a food and beverage opportunity returning on East Esplanade, opening up and engaging with a newly extended laneway, to compliment the terraces and businesses beyond.
